Consent forms
The privacy of patients is paramount. Hospitals use consent forms ( model release forms ) for all photographs or videos depicting anyone, including patients and/or staff. The MediaFiler image library links pictures to the relevant consent form which is maintained as a PDF or Document. Ensuring the hospital can instantly confirm permissions together with any specific conditions of use requested by the patient or staff.
Effective workflow
Photos & videos together with the consent forms are centrally stored in MediaFiler. It is very easy to link multiple photos to a consent form. The link between the media (images or video clips ) and the consent forms provides the communications department of the hospital with a very effective workflow to quickly clarify the terms of use of the media. Some patients give full permission to freely use their photos, others may demand conditions such as single use, restrict use for a specific purpose only, such as medical training, others ask for the photographs to be removed after a set period of time. Markers can also be used to highlight restrictions or indicate that a date has been reached.
