Stichtse Vecht is a newly created municipality in the province of Utrecht with about 63 000 people. The municipality was formed on January 1, 2011 by merging the municipalities Breukelen and Loenen Maarssen. Along with the city of Eindhoven and the Province of Noord-Holland this regional government agency selected MediaFiler to supply it’s Digital Asset Management software.
Security and Custom Rights Managements
Security is always a major need in the selection of any software for government agencies, including a media library. Managing the access roles and rights in the image library is vital. With many different departments within the government agencies, each person needs specific permissions, depending on their security clearance. Managing security is a core feature of MediaFiler.
The communications department centrally stores their assets, categorized to match areas highlighted on their public website. The image library also contains internal material, such as corporate files, logos of the municipality which may be shared easily, for example, with designers or the press.
